Understanding Syringe Types

U-40

40 IU per mL. Older standard, still common in some countries and veterinary use. Rare for peptides.

U-100

100 IU per mL. The worldwide standard for insulin and most peptide protocols. What most guides assume.

U-500

500 IU per mL. High-concentration syringe for concentrated insulin preparations. Uncommon for peptides.

⚠️ Critical: Always confirm your syringe type

Using a U-40 syringe when a protocol calls for U-100 means you are drawing 2.5× the intended volume. Using U-100 with a U-40 calculation means you're underdosing. Always check the syringe label before drawing.
